In every generation, false evangelists, false teachers, and false shepherds are in abundance, often being prominent and well-funded. Conversely, faithful men of God always are few in number, typically working in obscurity and on a shoestring budget. Christ Jesus declared, "Woe unto you, when all men shall speak well of you! for so did their fathers to the false prophets," Luke 6:26.
This series of articles comments upon false evangelists, false teachers, and false shepherds which the author personally has encountered. In no respect is the series intended to provide a comprehensive or even representative compilation of heretics or heresy. Nor is the series to be construed as an indictment of sin in the personal lives of these men. Judgment, in the sense of condemnation, belongs to God; however, judgment, in the sense of discernment, is the responsibility of every Christian.
The focus of these articles is upon the teaching of sundry deceivers, pointing out the error in their messages. The intent of the articles is to impart discernment to fellow believers who may encounter these deceivers or others who have similar characteristics and employ similar techniques.
The first article in the series, titled "Wolf Lore", provides a survey of that which the Scripture has to say concerning the wolf, the false shepherd, and others who prey upon and ravage the flock of God.
